Sabrina Vaquerizo González
Sabrina Vaquerizo González is a predoctoral researcher at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Her research focuses on Japanese cinema, gender and media studies, visual culture, the anthropology of the body, new materialism and posthumanism.
Sabrina Vaquerizo González is a predoctoral researcher at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a member of the MEDUSA research group: Genders in Transition. Masculinities, Affects and Bodies. Her ORCID is 0000-0003-4839-8516.
She studied Translation and Interpreting, with English and Japanese, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and later moved into Asian Studies at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She also holds a master’s degree in Publishing and a master’s degree in Chinese and Japanese Studies.
In 2017, she began the part-time online programme in Information and Knowledge Society, and she has recently been admitted to the new part-time online PhD programme in Humanities and Communication at the UOC.
Her research interests include Japanese cinema, gender and media studies, visual culture, the anthropology of the body, new materialism and posthumanism. Her doctoral project adopts an affirmative ethical posthuman position and aims to understand the negotiations of meanings embedded in becoming within the territorial assemblage of nation, gender and body during the Japanese post-bubble period, from 1990 to around 2010. Her thesis supervisor is Dr Begonya Enguix.
