Mark Simpson

Mark Simpson is a British writer and the author of several books, including *Male Impersonators: Men Performing Masculinity* and *Metrosexy: A 21st Century Self-Love Story*.

Back in the 1990s, he predicted that the future of masculinity would be metrosexual. His Cassandra-like prophecies were largely laughed at at the time, but the image-conscious male he identified and closely anatomised went on to become a defining figure of 21st-century masculinity.
