Jairo Sánchez García is a predoctoral researcher at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. His research explores the connections between body, gender and identity among groups of gender-dissident men.

Jairo Sánchez García is a predoctoral researcher in the fields of gender studies, LGTBIQ+ studies, and the sociology and anthropology of the body. He currently holds an FPU predoctoral contract, reference FPU21/02043, at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, where he carries out his research under the supervision of Begonya Enguix Grau.

He holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Alicante and a master’s degree in Advanced Studies in Work and Employment from the Complutense University of Madrid.

His work addresses the connections between body, gender and identity among groups of gender-dissident men, focusing on individual and social identity processes, the negotiation of gender and its power relations with other bodies. His research interests also include virtual social networks and women’s employment.
