Ana M. González Ramos

Ana M. González Ramos is a Senior Researcher at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and an Associate Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

She holds a PhD from the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Cádiz (2004) and a degree in Sociology from the University of Granada (1994).

Her research focuses on gender studies, science, and technology. Among other initiatives, she has led two national research projects on the mobility of highly qualified professionals and gender biases in scientific careers. Her work places particular emphasis on the structural changes that organisations should undertake to move towards more competitive and inclusive models.

She has been a visiting professor at several international institutions, including the University of Costa Rica; the PREST Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (UK); the Institut für Höhere Studien in Vienna (Austria); the Escola de Serviço Social at Universidade Católica de Pelotas (Brazil); and the Department of Sociology at the University of Havana (Cuba).
