Agnès Vayreda is an associate professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities. Her research linked to MEDUSA focuses on critical discourse analysis and gender relations in the context of science.

Agnès Vayreda is an associate professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and has been director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities since 2014. She represented the UOC on the Women and Science Commission of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia between 2006 and 2013, and served as the rector’s delegate for gender equality between 2010 and 2013.

Her research lines linked to the MEDUSA group focus on two main areas. The first is a methodological line based on discourse analysis as a tool for the critical analysis of social discourses, with the aim of connecting the linguistic dimension with the individual, historical and socio-structural dimensions, combining analysis with denunciation.

The second research line is linked to the study and exploration of gender relations in the context of science, with the aim of denouncing the reproduction of forms of structural violence specific to neoliberal rationality.
