Paco Abril Morales
Paco Abril holds a PhD in Information and Knowledge Society from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a degree in Sociology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His research focuses on masculinities, fatherhood, co-responsibility and coeducation.
Paco Abril holds a PhD in Information and Knowledge Society from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a degree in Sociology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He currently teaches sociology at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universitat de Girona and Gender and Society in the Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences at the UOC.
Since 2004, he has participated in national and international research projects on masculinities. His work focuses on men’s change and transition towards dissident and alternative models of masculinity. He has also worked on fatherhood, co-responsibility and coeducation.
He combines teaching and research with activism in men’s associations for equality, such as Homes Igualitaris and AHIGE, where he develops awareness-raising and training projects with young people and various groups of men.
